Alumni Advice to Current IU 21st Century Scholars: “As an IU 21st Century Scholar, I highly recommend students to take advantage of all the amazing opportunities IU has to offer from sporting events to guest lecturers to study abroad! I would also encourage all scholars to visit the IU Office of Overseas Study to discuss your interest for pursuing a study abroad program during your time here at IU. I previously worked in this office as a study abroad peer counselor and have met extremely helpful and friendly staff who are willing help you during the entire study abroad application process from start to finish. One biggest tip is that you can use your IU 21st Century Scholarship on any IU or IU co-sponsored program (over 100+ study abroad programs/destinations), so take advantage of that free money! I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and had the best time of my life. Above all else, study hard, work towards your goals, and enjoy your time at IU because it does fly by in the blink of an eye.”
Future Plans: “In August 2017, I will be moving back to Madrid, Spain to teach English and American culture to Spanish students during the 2017-2018 school year, and then perhaps pursue the U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) Program in 2018-2019.”
